And then there is Sam. I know there is only one- and I am grateful for this one. He doesn't exactly like having his picts taken and he is even smiling in this one. His teeth have been gone for over a year now and he doesn't know what to do with his smile. Even when I tell him I LOVE his toothless grin- he won't, can't and refuses to photograph his smile. BUT I must have said something REALLY funny to pull this from him.
LOVE it! And this moment will forever be mine. ;p

This little boy is starting to get his 4 top teeth joining his bottom 2. SO..I wanted to capture his little baby self..ooh, I love this age. He is starting to throw tantrums and talk and walk around furniture. LOVe you Baby Ry or should I say, big boy?

Bored Weekday

So what do you do when all the chores are done, laundry folded, kids have all been entertained?...PLAY!
Of course, on a whim and flying by the seat of my pants (as always) we headed out to try to find soft light at noon FULL DAY SUN. Gotta love the most dingy dirty places that shoot the best.
I was also paranoid that the other kids (who were only 5 feet away from me in an air conditioned car rocking to halloween favorites in July) were going to put the car in motion..so, we only got a few photos.
We managed to have no accidents, thank goodness, and I did get a few great ones.
Thank you to these two (who are always together as you may have noticed in previous posts) who are sooo willing to let me play.

FUN SOOC

So I have a ton of people who always ask me, why does it take a few weeks to get my pictures back. Can't you just take them from the camera and put them on a cd and give them to me? I am about to show you the difference of a straight out of the camera shot vs. one that has been edited..
I have to say though that I have heard it said, "You cannot polish a turd". So, you must have an excellent original to work with first. Lighting and exposure has EVERYTHING to having a great original.

Thanks to my very good friend Rachel Johnson with Luminosity Photography, I have used her EXCELLENT SOOC to show you before and after with editing. Rachel really is a fantastic photographer and I really haven't met a nicer, kinder person. She is great to work with. With that said, here you go!

Brightening, contrast, dodging, burning, levels, curves and an adjustment layer that takes out the magenta in the neutrals, followed by a Gold filter..VOLA!


Here is the edited black and white version

Basic contrast, burn and dodge, brightening and adding a curves layer, followed by a TOTALLY RAD black and white action. VOLA!
